Project consisted of design and construction of pre-detonation overhead steel canopies, fragment shield sidewalls, blast protection with T-walls on and around certain existing buildings; and construction of a new DFAC Building and Main CAC with anti-climb fence and vehicular and pedestrian gates, and utility connections.
The entire scheme was executed in a certain phasing plan, including night-shifts, to allow for un-interrupted operational functions of the facilities, as well as safety/security concerns, during the installation and erection of the overhead canopies and the protection walls. Civil works covered only the connection lines to be tied-in to the nearest mains or branches and roadways to the new MCAC.
