U.S. Embassy Compound Security Upgrade Bangkok, Thailand

Project Scope

This project was designed to enhance the physical security of the U.S. Diplomatic facilities in Bangkok, which consists of three existing compounds - the NOB Compound (Chancery), the EOB Compound (Consulate), and the Rajdameri Compound (GSO and housing).

As a design-bid-build project, the project ensured that all design and construction elements were of the highest quality and met the rigorous standards set by the U.S. Embassy. The project involved both new construction and renovations, providing a comprehensive upgrade to the security of the compounds.

One of the key components of the project was the construction of two Compound Access Control (CAC) buildings at the Rajdameri Compound, including a main CAC and a service CAC. These buildings provide a secure and controlled entry point for personnel, vehicles, and deliveries, ensuring the safety and security of the compounds.

The project also included the construction of new and remodeled Compound Emergency Sanctuaries on the EOB and Rajdameri Compounds. These structures serve as a safe haven for personnel in the event of an emergency, ensuring their safety and protection. Local guard booths were also built on both the EOB and Rajdameri Compounds, providing a secure and controlled entry point for security personnel.

The site works were extensive, encompassing all aspects of the compounds' security. The perimeter walls on all three compounds were upgraded, providing a secure barrier to the facilities. The project also included the installation of hardscape, landscaping and planting, grading, and erosion control, improving the overall appearance and functionality of the compounds. Essential utility systems, including electrical, domestic water, fire protection, sewerage, storm water, telecom/data, and technical security systems, were also installed, ensuring the reliability and functionality of the facilities.

In conclusion, the Compound Security Upgrade Project in Bangkok, Thailand was a major success, providing a comprehensive upgrade to the physical security of the U.S. Diplomatic facilities in Bangkok. Epik International is proud to have played a role in this project and looks forward to future opportunities to serve the U.S. Embassy and its personnel.
