The project, located in the U.S. Embassy compound in Dhaka, Bangladesh, involves the removal of the existing wastewater treatment system and the installation of a new prefabricated steel extended aeration/complete mix activated sludge wastewater treatment system. This new system is designed to handle an average daily flow rate of 18,000 gallons, with a peak daily flow rate of 45,000 gallons, ensuring that it will meet the demands of the community for many years to come.
The new wastewater treatment system is comprised of various essential components, including all necessary vessels, internal piping, weirs, and baffles. To ensure efficient and effective treatment, the system also includes primary screening devices, a flow equalization chamber, a sludge holding chamber and aerobic digester, an aeration chamber, a clarifier, disinfection equipment, and a corrosion prevention system. Additionally, the system includes a service walkway, providing easy access for maintenance and service personnel.
The use of prefabricated steel in the construction of the new wastewater treatment system provides several benefits, including improved durability, ease of installation, and reduced construction time. The system has been designed with the latest technologies and techniques to ensure that it is able to provide effective and efficient treatment of the wastewater generated by the community.
