The project includes new design and construction of the following buildings and site features for the existing US Embassy in Freetown, Sierra Leone:
New Marine Security Guard Quarters (MSGQ)
New Outdoor Recreation Areas
New Parking Spaces
Related Site and Infrastructure Improvements
MSGQ will be a new 3 story facility, with a partial basement and three sloped concrete canopies attached to the structure. The proposed structure will be built on ta sloping site which exceeds 20% in some locations.
The construction of the new MSGQ will include bedrooms, parking, dining, and interior and exterior recreation spaces.
Exterior finishes will include formed metal wall panels, exposed sealed concrete, aluminum composite panels, and mechanically attached stone cladding.
Interior floor finishes will primarily consist of stone in the main living areas, tile and sealed concrete in the bath and service areas, and carpet in the bedrooms. Most ceilings will be gypsum, with the exception of the exercise room having direct-applied acoustical tile and some of the main living areas having linear wood or metal panels.
Site civil engineering scheme includes grading, drainage, paving, landscape, irrigation and utilities.
New building services will be connected to existing utilities provided on site, including sanitary sewer, domestic cold water and site storm drainage system.
